DNPs of Color Announces Leadership Appointment: Dr. Marshall H. Blue, Sr. Named Interim Vice Chair

Alexandria, VA – March 3, 2025 – DNPs of Color (DOCs) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marshall H. Blue, Sr. as Interim Vice Chair through the remainder of the 2025 term.

Dr. Blue brings extensive leadership experience in healthcare systems, where he has successfully led teams, developed innovative programs, and championed initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and advancing health equity. His work spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a strong emphasis on pediatric care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and healthcare operations. His ability to navigate complex systems and implement sustainable solutions has made a significant impact on the communities he serves.

A dedicated member of DNPs of Color since 2021, Dr. Blue has been instrumental in the organization’s growth and impact. His contributions include:

  • Providing scholarship support for DNP students, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder future nurse leaders.
  • Serving as Co-Chair of the Governance Committee, helping shape policies and organizational strategies to support DOC’s long-term vision.
  • Actively contributing to the DEIAA Committee, driving initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility (DEIAA) in nursing.
  • Volunteering at annual conferences since 2022, offering mentorship, guidance, and hands-on support to members.
  • Serving as an ambassador for DOCs, elevating visibility and expanding opportunities for engagement and advocacy.
  • Receiving the 2024 Outstanding Board Member Award, recognizing his exceptional commitment to the organization and its members.
